Your SoundCloud shows you come from Sachsen, Germany. Where in Sachsen do you come from?
Yes, I come from Sachsen, directly from Chemnitz to be precise. Originally I am from a little town called Geringswalde being in the middle of Leipzig, Chemnitz and Dresden. At the time my big love, being a great DJ for years now, lived in Chemnitz, hence I moved there about 2006. My boyfriend at the time was not the trigger for me becoming a DJane though since music has always been a big part of my life.

My friends are predominantly musicians and DJs. At some point after following their moves closely I got infected and could not hold back any more. I simply had to learn the art of DJing. A very good friend and well known as DJ under the name Andrew Elliot was so kind to teach me the basics.

Being a DJane for about a year now I had the pleasure to meet a lot of very kind and interesting people who support me tremendously as well as giving me opportunities to showcase my talent. I would like to send a big thank you especially to Stefan Simons and Dietmar Maier from Minimalstation.de for this.

What are your plans for 2012 next to your gigs?
Music comes first in my life so at the moment I am setting up my music studio. I am starting a few projects with good friends and DJ colleagues.

With Riccardo de Nicu I have launched the DJ duo Electoliza. After a longer break we are celebrating our comeback on the 9th of July at Club Noah Gotha.

With another great friend called Tingle Tangle Bob we are launching Die Letzte Substanz. The musical stlye for this project can be described as groovy and free electronic composition being a mixture between DJ and live act. The difference setting apart Die Letzte Substanz from other everyday DJ acts is mainly that we mix with vinyl as well as have a live show with lots of Minimal and Techno beats. Dates coming soon!

More projects with other solid DJs are in the making. Also I am starting to produce my own tracks, stay tuned for updates!

Have you started with production? Do you find producing music interesting or do you prefer to keep DJing for now?
Before I started DJing I have started with production and have a few tracks that have been played on internet radio stations. Altogether I have made quite a few tracks by myself already as well as starting another project with DJ colleague Rob Danzen.

This new project is called Crusty & Danzen has already been called the top electronic Tech duo from Berlin. We had a session in the studio resulting in Error 404 and Pulsar, giving the club-scene in Germany a new impulse.

Melodic feelings and extremely danceable beats, to put it short.

Describe your style of music shortly please!
Quite frankly I don't want to categorize my sound. If I had to I would say Minimal, MinimalTekk, Techno, Electro, TechHouse. A little bit of everything really. For me music means pure energy representing a great passion of mine!

What distinguishes you as an artist?
I think I can cover a wide spectrum of musical variations having a little bit for every taste really. Originality, sovereignty, skills and a profound musical understanding. It's really all about music!

The fascination of the personal interpretation of sounds as well as sex appeal. Sharing emotions that can only really be shared together in the twinkling of an eye when celebrating while letting go of oneself. All this and much more!

How do you calm down and relax after a long night?
To be honest what I am looking forward to mostly after a long night at an event is my boyfriend. With him I can relax completely.

Are you creative outside the field of music? If so how and what do you do?
Up to now music takes up all my time and creativity for example also when designing art for my CrustySounds collection 2012.

What are your absolutely most favourite tracks and or artists?
Pan-Pot and The Prodigy.

What are the roots of your musical influences?
The Prodigy full stop.

What was your most memorable gig so far? What was your strangest experience so far?
Tresor in Berlin and Rheingold in Düsseldorf. There are so many nice memories but also very wired moments. I am always super happy when people thank me for the music. You know how it is...

How do you see electronic music in 50 or 150 years? Are there going to be a lot of changes considering the media we listen to music on but also the media that will be used to create music? Is there going to be one big robot doing everything for us by reading our thought patterns or are we going to go back to our roots and bang the drums dancing naked in the forest around a huge bonfire with a highly technical Neo-Techno world and society in the background?
I have not got the faintest idea, but as can be observed so much has changed in recent years and from my point of view music also stands for progression in a technical but also creative context.

What does your normal everyday look like?
Besides music there is not really a lot of other things that take up my time.

What do you hate about technology and why?
Well I would not say hate but I can clearly state that I am not a fan of the digital sound or rather sound purely on digital media. I play vinyl and that is it, nothing else.

I have nothing against digital music but I find we are loosing something very important by using digital music! We are loosing the visual media!

When I see someone on stage with a laptop it is not as exciting for me as when I see a DJ or Djane play vinyl. I guess the younger generation does not care so much, or basically can't be asked to care about it, they want a good party and that is it. I think that is a pity.

Playing a set on vinyl has intense dynamics, pitching the tracks, beat matching the tracks, reading the grooves and really seeing the breaks, last not least the cognitive capture of the track as a whole in the memory. Vinyl will never die, it has far too many advantages!

Surly the weight is a clear disadvantage for many people, but hey, good music and good sound does have its weight! I am of the opinion that in a club the sound character of a vinyl record is much nicer than from a CD or digital source.

Vinyl simply sounds more dense and compact while creating more pressure, many people find the sound character from a record to be much more agreeable.

Don't understand me wrong, I love MP3s and music from digital media, however I will always stay true to vinyl. In the end it does not matter if someone plays a set from vinyl or with a laptop. The mix as a whole is what makes people groove and if one succeeds at rocking a crowd then you have done nothing wrong.

On the other hand what is you most loved technological gadget at the moment and why?
Well to that I can only say Technics SL-1200 MK2! Vinyl only!

Leaving your home what do you always take with you?
My keys :)

When you perform at an event do you generally have a vague idea or framework of what you might play that night or have you got your case equipped with various electronic music gems and let the crowd influence you spontaneously?
No, I neither have a plan nor pattern for the night. Depending on the event and location I take a few tracks with me that I think will fit. Once I start playing I quickly feel the crowd and let them guide me.

With what emotions did you go at recording the set for Technolux blog? Did you have something in mind or some emotions in your heart or belly?
For a set I don't really need a plan, I love the music that I play and it is this love that I like to share with my listeners.

Dein SoundCloud zeigt Du bist aus Sachsen, Deutschland. Wo in Sachsen kommst Du her?
Ja, ich bin aus Sachsen und komme direkt aus Chemnitz. Ursprünglich komme ich ja aus einer kleiner Stadt namens Geringswalde, was in der Mitte von Leipzig, Chemnitz und Dresden liegt. Durch meine damalige große Liebe, was auch schon seit Jahren ein großartiger DJ ist, bin ich so gegen 2006 nach Chemnitz gezogen. Welcher aber nicht der Auslöser war, dass ich DJane geworden bin. Nein, die Musik hat mich schon mein Leben lang fasziniert. Mein Freundeskreis besteht fast nur aus Musikern bzw. DJ´s. Irgendwann hat mich dann auch der Virus gepackt, wo ich dann ihnen immer mal über die Schulter geschaut habe und wollte unbedingt die Kunst des Auflegens erlernen und habe mir durch einen sehr guten Freund, der selbst schon lange DJ und unter dem Namen Andrew Elliot bekannt ist, die Grundhandgriffe beibringen lassen. In dem Jahr, wo ich als DJane tätig bin, habe ich sehr viele nette und interessante Leute kennengelernt, die mich gerade sehr unterstützen und mir schon einiges ermöglicht haben. Was sind Deine Pläne für 2012 neben Deinen Veranstaltungen?
An erster Stelle steht für mich die Musik...Ich bin gerade dabei mein eigenes Musikstudio einzurichten...Werde neue projekte starten...auch mit einigen guten Freunden/DJ-Kollegen, wie z.B. Riccardo de Nicu, mit dem ich im März 2011 das DJ Duo "Electroliza" gegründet habe und feiern nach einer längeren Pause am 09.06.2012 unser „Comeback“ im Club Noah Gotha, sowie mit einem sehr guten Freund und DJ-Kollege namens Tingle Tangle Bob, mit dem ich ein neues Projekt  geplant habe bzw. was schon in den „Startlöchern“ steht namens "Die Letzte Substanz"...Unseren Musikstil betiteln wir selbst als "Mit-Wipp-Musik" und als "Freie elektronische Gestaltung" mit einer musikalischen Mischung aus DJ & Live-Act... "Die Letzte Substanz" unterscheidet sich von herk?mlichen DJ-Acts, da wir 2 zusammen mit Vinyl & Live f· eine unvergessliche Nacht sorgen... mit vielen Minimal und Techno durchzogenen Beatz... Dates coming soon !!! Desweiteren sind schon neue Projekte mit weiteren guten DJ´s geplant und werde an neuen Tracks arbeiten bzw. produzieren... Man kann also gespannt sein ;)
Produzierst Du schon selber Musik? Hast Du damit schon angefangen, Interesse daran, oder willst Du vorerst beim Auflegen bleiben?
Ja. Ich habe schon, bevor ich mit dem auflegen angefangen habe, mich an eigenen Tracks versucht, die schon in mehreren Internetradios gespielt werden...Mittlerweile habe ich in der ganzen Zeit einiges selbst an Musik produziert und startete gleichzeitig ein weiteres neues Projekt mit meinem DJ-Kollegen Rob Danzen namens "Crusty & Danzen", welches schon als "the new  Top Electronic Tech Duo from Berlin!" benannt wurde. Wir haben zusammen eine Jam-Saison im Studio gesetzt und heraus kamen zwei weitere neue Tracks "Error 404" und "Pulsar!!!", welche einen neuen Sound in der Club-Szene dieses Landes gebracht haben. "Melody + extreme tanzbaren Beatz = Crusty & Danzen"...
Beschreibe uns kurz Deinen musikalischen Stil!
Ich will mich nicht auf ein bestimmtes Soundmuster festlegen. Aber wenn ich meinen musikalischen Stil beschreiben müsste, würde ich Minimal/MinimalTekk/Techno/Electro/TechHouse sagen... halt von jedem was :) Es ist einfach nur pure Energie und Leidenschaft!
Was zeichnet Dich als Künstler aus?
Es ist für jeden was dabei und es wird nie langweilig. Originalität, Skills, Souveränität und ein sehr gutes musikalisches Verständnis. Darum geht es, Musik... Die Faszination an der eigenen Interpretation von Sounds mit Sexappeal, miteinander Gefühle teilen, die es nur in diesem Augenblick zu ergreifen gilt, gemeinsam feiern und sich fallen lassen.... dies spricht für mich

Wie schaltest Du nach einer langen Nacht ab?
Ehrlich gesagt, freue ich mich nach einer langen Nacht am meisten auf meinen Freund...mit ihm kann ich am besten abschalten/relaxen/chillen...

Bist Du außerhalb der Musik anderweitig kreativ tätig? Wenn ja wie und was?
Bis jetzt verlangt die Musik alles von mir ab, wo ich immer kreativ sein muss z.B. neues Design entwerfen für meine CrustySounds-Kollektion 2012

Was ist/sind Deine/n absolute/n Lieblingsplatte/n? Band/s? Titel?
Meine absoluten Favorites sind „Pan-Pot“ und „The Prodigy“

Was sind Deine ältesten und prägendsten musikalischen Einflüsse? Bands?
„The Prodigy“

Wo war bisher Dein schönster Gig und was war bisher Dein schrägstes Erlebnis bzw. schönster Moment?
Im Tresor Berlin und im Rheingold Düsseldorf. Da gibt es so viele schöne aber teilweise auch schräge Momente... freue mich halt immer, wenn die Leute sich für den Sound bedanken...

Wie siehst Du elektronische Musik in 50 oder in 150 Jahren? Wird sich vieles ändern bezüglich dem Medium auf dem wir die Musik hören aber auch bezüglich dem Medium mit dem wir Musik kreieren? Wird alles ein großer Roboter für uns machen und unsere Gedanken lesen oder gehen wir eher zurück zu unseren Wurzeln und trommeln wieder im Wald ums Lagerfeuer nackt tanzend mit einer hochtechnisierten Neo-Techno-Welt im Hintergrund?
Ehrlich gesagt habe ich keine Ahnung, aber wie man sieht hat sich in den letzten Jahren soviel verändert, es kam viel neues auf dem Markt und Musik steht aus meiner Sicht auch für „Weiterentwicklung“. :)

Ganz kurz umrissen wie sieht Dein üblicher Tag aus?
In meinem Kopf dreht es sich nur um Musik :D … sozusagen besteht auch mein üblicher Tag was dies betrifft daraus.
Was kannst Du überhaupt nicht an Technik leiden und warum?
Also "leiden" wäre hier das falsche Wort...sagen wir eher ich mag nicht so den Digitalen Sound. Bei mir kommen nur Vinyl-Schallplatten auf die Teller. Ich habe nichts gegen Digitalen Sound, aber ich finde, wir verlieren dadurch etwas wichtiges: "Visuelles". Wenn emand mit einem Laptop auf der Bühne steht, ist das für mich nicht so spannend, als wenn ein DJ/DJane mit Vinyl auflegt. Die jüngeren Clubgänger machen sich nicht viele Gedanken, sie wollen eine gute Party und fertig. Was zwar schade ist, denn das Bestreiten eines Sets mit Vinyl hat eine Dynamik, das Eindrehen, das Lesen der Rillen, der Aufschluss über Geschwindigkeit, Breaks und Flächen geben und dem kognitiven Speichern der Titel im Gedächtnis. Vinyl wird nie untergehen, da es zu viele Vorteile hat! Sicherlich ist das Gewicht ein entscheidender Nachteil für viele, aber gute Musik und guter Sound hat sein Gewicht.

Meiner Meinung nach ist im Club der Klang einer Vinyl besser, als von einer CD bzw. Digital. Vinyl klingt einfach dichter, kompakter, druckvoller den Vinyl-Sound empfinden viele auch als angenehmer. Auch wenn ich MP3/Digital genial finde, bleibe ich trotzdem dem Vinyl treu, es ist völlig egal, ob er/sie am Laptop oder mit Vinyl auflegt. Der gesamte Mix machts, wenn die Leute zur Musik abfeiern, egal ob Platte oder MP3/Digital, dann hat man alles richtig gemacht.
Was wiederum ist momentan Dein liebstes technisches Gadget und warum?
Technics Plattenspieler SL-1200 MK2...ich sag nur "Only Vinyl - Vinyl is Music !!" ;)

Womit verlässt Du nie Deine Wohnung/Haus?
Mein Schlüssel :D

Hast du generell wenn Du an einer Veranstaltung auflegst einen Plan oder groben Umriss dessen was Du Dir für die Nacht vorgestellt hast oder hast Du einfach eine gute Auswahl an allen möglichen elektronischen Perlen im Gepäck und lässt Dich vom Publikum spontan inspirieren?
Nein, ich habe keinen Plan oder groben Umriss dessen was ich mir für die Nacht vorgestellt habe...Je nach Veranstaltung bzw. Club nehme ich Platten mit, die halt da passen...und wenn ich dann anfange mit auflegen, gehe ich nach dem Publikum...man bekommt schnell mit, was sie gerne hören wollen... :)

Mit welchen Gefühlen bist Du das Set für Technolux blog angegangen? Was war Dein Plan dabei, hattest Du ein Bild vor Augen oder ein Gefühl im Bauch/Herzen?
Für ein Set brauch ich keinen Plan...die Musik, die ich spiele liebe ich und möchte dies mit den anderen Leuten teilen...
